Mini-Research Assignment

The Holocaust was a devastating event that led to the tragic deaths of many innocent Jews. As I already mentioned to you, the Holocaust was not the only genocide in our world today. For this assignment you are to research a genocide that occurred or is happening in our world today.

For this assignment:

- You are to research the genocide assignned. Look for information about the genocide.
- With your group, you are to create a presentation about the genocide assigned to present to the class.
- Be creative, you could create a powerpoint, a poster, or even a website.

Questions to keep in mind:
1. What is a genocide?
2. What happened in your country?
3. How many were killed?
4. Is it still happening right now?
5. When did the genocide end? Or if it is still happening, why is it not ending?
6. What countries helped or are helping to put an end to this genocide?
7. Why should we as students, know about this specific genocide?
8. How is this genocide similar to the Holocaust?
-Make sure to mention the differences as well.
-Make a connection to the novel Night.
